Guido Martinetti was born in Turin in 1975. After a master in oenology and wine-making, in 2003 he launched - together with his friend and associate Federico Grom- the first Grom ice-cream parlour, in “piazza Paleocapa” – a square in Turin.
Today, there are 57 Grom ice-cream parlours in Italy and both friends have about 500 employees. Guido prepares the recipes for Grom, travels to find the best raw materials and takes care of several fruit varieties grown by “Mura Mura”, a company of Costigliole d’Asti. He turns the best varieties into water-ice.
Guido and Federico tell about their adventure in the book "Grom. Storia di un’amicizia, qualche gelato e molti fiori” (Bompiani, 2012).
