Trukitrek is a puppet theatre company for audience of all ages. In 1998, the new Brazilian-Spanish theatre company was created to bring together artists of different backgrounds and experiences to share the diversity of cultural expressions.
At the beginning, the company performed shows with traditional puppets. Later, their characters have gradually become more "human": firstly, they had real hands, feet, arms and finally they got a human face. They turned into living puppets between drama and puppet theatre, characters at the border with the surreal world.
In 2002 the company Trukitrek produced and created a short film called Corazón Loco where the protagonists are all puppets. In June 2002 the film was chosen for the official department of the on-line festival - broadcast by the Spanish satellite broadcasting company Canal+ Spagna -, the « Notodofilmfest ». After a while, this short film was chosen by the Cervantes institute for a Spanish short film exhibition to be held in São Paulo in Brasil, Kraków and Naples etc.
In 2003, Jukebox made its first appearance. Here, the company was for the first time on the European stage - but not only in Europe. Since then, Trukitrek has been showing its performance in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Holland, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
In 2005, the Italian artist Raffaella Brusaglino worked with the company in order to create the three-dimensional show “Unforgettable”, a music comedy where puppets, actors and comics have been brought together in the same story.
During the same year, the company Trukitrek was the Spanish representative at the "Festival Internacional de Teatro de Muñecos" in Caracas invited by the Ministry of Culture of Venezuela. In 2007, the show “Unforgettable” gains the “Special Mention of the Jury” at the 18th "Fira de Titelles di Lleida" (Spain). Over the same year the company makes its début with the new “Hôtel Crab” at the 11th International Street Art Festival «Artisti in Piazza» of Pennabilli, in Italy.
