Smilla, a ten-year-old mestizo, knows how it feels to be abandoned; Paolo Susana - a fifty-one years-old man from Gorizia - has always been fighting in favour of animals rights, since animals are the “last of the last ones”. They have had a special connection since the first time they met and, today, they wish to develop a project called "Sidecar Smilla" which is a tour through Italy (including also Corsica and the Republic of San Marino) to discover all kennels in order to raise people's awareness about topics like abandon, stray dogs and refuges where abandoned dogs die.
Smilla and Paola are going to leave on the 26th of July from Gorizia, their town, on a motorcycle sidecar (a blue and cream-colored UralTourist 750, a so-called "Ronzinante") and, after over one month and 20 pit-stops, they will reach the Vegetarian Festival.
